p 98 - "For the record, being treated like a fetal container is enraging."

p 96 - "Pregnant women are stared at, commented on, and touched; we belong to everyone." (Note that this is slightly sarcastic; the writer means that other people act as though pregnant women are public property.)

P 88 - “Research reveals that a household with children leaves men’s sleep relatively unaffected but increases a woman’s risk of sleep interruption and deprivation by 46 percent.”

P 88 - “The wage gap seems to directly produce greater depression in women. A 2015 Columbia University study of more than twenty thousand found that when women and men have equal incomes, or in situations where women have higher incomes, gender gaps in depression were virtually eliminated.”

P 87 - “None of this means that the average man feels rich and all-powerful or that all men are mean-spirited chauvinists and supremacists out to oppress the women around them. p 73 - "Women say that they fake orgasms primarily to protect the feelings and egos of their male partners." Yikes.

p 70-71 - "global studies show that women, and girls, are consistently doing at least an average of two hours more unpaid domestic work a week. Many boys and men, trying to do their best and also feeling tremendous time pressure, believe instinctively that this information is wrong and that they do their "fair share." However, studies show that men reliably overestimate their domestic contributions."

p 68 - "While it would make sense to think that the work is distributed according to who has more time at home or earns more money, traditional gender expectations trump both."

She talks about how anger and hormones are related; acting on anger releases testosterone, but likewise, increasing testosterone tends to increase feelings of aggression. This is true in both men and women.

It not easy. :(

p 27-28: "totalitarian government is different from dictatorships and tyrannies... total domination is the only form of government with which coexistence is not possible." This is why I think her definition of 'totalitarian' includes perpetual expansion, Borg-style.

p 27 - "anti-Communism... tempts us into constructing a fiction of our own, so that we refuse on principle to distinguish the various Communist one-party dictatorships, with which we are confronted in reality, from authentic totalitarian government as it may develop, albeit in different forms, in China." I think I understand what means by dictatorship and totalitarianism; not 100% sure tho.

p 222 - "screwing up is an opportunity for you to be honest about your mistakes, learn from them, and move forward."
