Gregory contrasts Isaiah and Jeremiah well (p. 36-37) and in light of his own context since many worthy believers were reluctant to leave the contemplative life. Isaiah, experiencing a cleansing and eager to love his neighbours, answered God's call quickly. Jeremiah, being more contemplative, hesitated about answering the call.

Very "meh" so far. Ellul needs to work at explaining things simpler.
