Wow! So far, this is really heartbreaking!

Update on the lost book situation:

IT’S BEEN FOUND! After practically turning my room upside down and not seeing it, I realized that it must be somewhere else...

And, when I thought about it logically, I figured out a likely location, and that’s just where it was!

Calling all prayer warriors!

This morning, I discovered that I have a non-renewable, overdue book out from the library...and I can't find it ANYWHERE!

I have scoured every logical place I can think of, and it still hasn't turned up!

Please pray that I find it...and SOON! I am at my wits' end here!

For years, I've suffered from tsundoku: having too many books.

Usually, whenever I bargain hunt, I come home with a boatload of literature.

I've decided to put a stop to it, though. I'm purging my collection of all but the bare essentials: Bibles, autographed books, yearbooks, etc.

Also, I won't bargain hunt this year; I'll stick to iBooks, iTunes, Kindle, and public libraries to find things to read and watch.

I quit the book themes last month.

Though I still read a lot, my theme for each month is three different shows: one on DVD, one on iTunes, and one on streaming.

Last month, I did "Lab Rats," "Power Rangers Dino Thunder," and "The Batman." Now, I'm doing "Wizards of Waverly Place," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," and "Batman: The Brave and the Bold".

If you haven't seen those shows, you should try them; they're good.

Wow! Can you say "outdated"?

You know that image of a woman standing in front of her full closet saying, “I never have anything to wear!”?

Well, that’s how I’ve been feeling lately…but about my bookshelves. When I look at them, I don't see anything I really want to read.

I've had trouble sticking to my daily reading sessions...and I was reading for three hours some days just this past summer. I think I've hit a wall with reading.

My theme for the month of September is MYSTERIES!

I dedicated September 2018 to completing the first two seasons of the old-school “Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew” TV show, and had a blast with it. This year, I'm doing it again in literary form. I plan on reading all sorts of mysteries, ranging from classics like Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes to newer reads such as the works of Mary Higgins Clark.

For those who haven't heard:

My literary theme for the month is twofold: C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.

While I have read "Narnia" and "The Lord of the Rings" before, they're such great works that they're worth experiencing again.

Plus, I'd like to delve into those authors' other works, such as Lewis' nonfiction.

So...what's YOUR favorite Tolkien or Lewis work?

Thank goodness for 2nd & Charles; without them, I wouldn't be able to read this!

Now that July is less than half a day away, I can reveal my theme for next month: Anne McCaffrey!
