I feel a lot of feelings. Flabbergasted on how our h ended up in this predicament but also I’m angry on her behalf and need Humphrey to suffer and Clara too! Then back to baffled.

Like some other Coldbreath heroines, this one is pretty passive to start. Hoping she grows and seizes the reins more.

Really hoping Risdaverse breaks this slump…

Ben wasn’t anything like she’d expected him to be when she’d first been summoned. He was anxious and thoughtful, and he’d given her flowers, then cried over violating her consent. He wasn’t a complete villain after all. Maybe not any kind of villain.

Sorry y'all, I'm going to be slow to respond and to post reviews for a couple days, but I have a lot of thoughts on my most recent reads! I finally caught what others in my family had unfortunately. I'm a miserable sick person too lol.

I don't know why I'm still surprised how bad the slumping is this year. After each one finally releases me from its hooks, I'm all optimistic that the rest of the year's gonna be ah-mazing and turn itself around and give me all the 5 stars it's been withholding. Then a few weeks later, here I sit, slumpy and frustrated, repeating the cycle. Mood reading's a fickle beast.

I started this just wanting to read something that was easy to digest and would likely make me laugh and it's giving me those things. I like that the author has a summary at the start of some of the connecting characters that have been in a couple of her other series (only one of which I've read some of), but it does feel a little like getting dropped midway into shenanigans.

I hate when I struggle with a new book because the plot or a character is frustrating in it that's similar to a frustration from a book I just finished. It always makes me moody about the new book.

The reveal of who took the video of Charlie sneaking off Nova’s roof has shocked me! 😂

Oh Charlie, I just want to hug him but I’m glad he’s finally learning those around him see him.

Charlie, despite my best intentions and probably his as well, is the person I care about most. And I’m not nearly as scared of that as I used to be.

The small town moments of hilarity and sweetness are so on point in this series.

“This is the longest buildup to a one-night stand I’ve ever had in my life.” She sighs.

I’m so glad they talked things out, even though it was uncomfortable. But even a serious talk between them has a bantery feel, loving it.

I like the way she feels beneath my hands. I like the way I feel with her against me. Like one of those flickering light bulbs I twisted around the trees last night at two in the morning, trying to make this day as special as Stella deserves.

You know when you're just waiting on a library hold to come available so you keep reading other books til you can read THAT book? It makes choosing your next read so much harder right? Because if your hold was in, you know exactly what you'd read and it could come up any.freaking.second.

Just submitted a request to the Goodreads Idea page for them to give us back the filter option on the Friends page. In case anyone was also curious, apparently Goodreads denied us the half star rating addition back in 2019 and that's their final word. Sigh.
