I like the H a lot more than the h for the second book in a row 😔

This is taking a while to digest because you have hilarious scenes like recollecting a 40-demon hacky sack game 🤣 that then transitions to helping a child soul understand that they’re now in the Afterlife 🥺

This gives good flirting and great mains and things like this 🫠
His interest in her appearance paled in comparison to the interest in her, the mind behind those eyes, the kind heart he’d seen flashes of. What stories could she tell? What monsters was she fighting?

This is emotional and funny and deep. World-building surrounding what happens when we die is bound to be layered right? It’s rocking a bit of not like other souls for the h but in a nice way. It’s also a tad wordy and I have no idea why it’s so long yet but I’m here for it.

It was the common ground that kept them both carefully navigating the situation. Each of them was working hard not to repeat the mistakes of their past, and in some way it felt like they were in it together. Even if they technically had to stay apart.

It’s lovely when characters do the hard work.

She just wants to pet a squirrel 🐿️. Same, all those TikToks make it seem so easy to befriend the wildlife, sigh.

We’re going to get some snow for the first time in 2 years (however little it may be) so I’ve returned to the holiday books in celebration ❄️🌨️

This book is slightly traumatizing for someone with a fear of heights 😅. All the mentions of falling...

The h’s backstory with her mom and then this town being judgmental asses is heartbreaking

Always a good time when the hero stands up for the heroine and some bullies get a smackdown!

I keep laughing and aww’ing. All the fun details like the texts, emails, journaling, and other communications add to the actual characters in a fantastic way.

Enjoying this so much! I don’t know how I ended up with a second book where the FMC can’t confront her parents though.

I’d never had the opportunity to throw a letter threatening my life into a fire before, but I imagined it must feel really good.

Not that I want a letter like this but I bet it does feel satisfying 🤣

Spending time with family to wrap up 2024. Wishing everyone an amazing ending to this year, but an even better start to 2025. Crossing fingers for less slumps, more five stars, and allllll the bookish talk ❤️ .

…it had taken me the year since the store had closed to recover from being questioned about if I would wall slam a woman or if I was more of a “take it slow” kind of lad…And to answer the question, it appeared I was both.

I do like him more than her. The h in this comes across as a lil too caught up in past roles before they were fully formed adults but 🤞she shifts soon.
