I realized for the month of January that I left out one of my favorite poems of that month (that just absolutely flabbergasted me - the fact that I forgot it is so odd and confusing to me). To correct that, I am adding it here in it's own update. It was "Language Lesson 1976" by Heather McHugh. I thought this poem was amazing. I hope to write like that one day.

However, continuing with the trend of my favorite poems of the month. My favorite poems of January were "The Mock Turtle's Song" by Lewis Carroll, "Evening Star" by Edward Hirsch, "Ode On Solitude" by Alexander Pope, and "Snow" by Louis MacNiece. Honorary mentions to "Riddle #68 (from the "Exeter Book")" by Anonymous, "A Mistake" by Czeslaw Milosz, and "Of All The Works" by Bertolt Brecht.

I'm frustrated with this book for the beginning of the year, so far... Not going to lie. While the poems are good, very well - written, and mostly modern, the introduction says no poems from the last edition are in here, but that's simply not true. "The Mock Turtle Song's" by Lewis Carroll is in January section of this book and the June section of the last one. A lot of errors I've found in the bottom trivia as well.

Finished December! I've read 365 Poems EVERY DAY this year!! My favorite poems of this month were "The World Is Not Conclusion" by Emily Dickinson, "Prospice" by Robert Browning, "Nice Day For A Lynching" by Kenneth Patchen, and "The Ballad Of Bouillabaisse" by William Makepeace Thackery. Special shout outs to "Museum Piece" by Richard Wilbur and "Idea" by Michael Drayton. I can't believe I did it!! Ready for Vol. 2!

It’s not bad (I actually really like it), but I’m gonna have to pause it for the time being due to school, needing fulfill a lot of my own personal goals before the year is out (NYE Resolutions, Book Fairying, and what not), and dealing with all my other responsibilities like work, holiday obligations, and all the errands I have to do. Plan to start it back January 1st.

November was a VAST improvement from October's poems! My favorites were "The Leaden-Eyed" by Vachel Lindsay, "Requiem" by Robert Louis Stevenson, "The Call" by Charlotte Mew, & "Evolution" by Jonathan Bannister Tabb. Special shout out to "The Ballad Of Reading Gaol" by Oscar Wilde, "Full Moon That Strikes The Earth Cold" by Karen McCosker, and multiple Shakespeare pieces ("The Tempest", "King Lear", "Sonnet 29")!
