Auden’s parents literally suck so bad y’all… Just what the fuck…

The beginning of May was rough for poems, but, hitting the middle to the end, they got much better! My favorites for the month were "Canary" by Rita Dove, the 8th section of "Song Of Myself" by Walt Whitman's "Leaves Of Grass", "Nulla Fides" by Patrick Carey, and "May 2" by David Lehman. Honorary mentions to "The City Limits" by A.R. Ammons, "Written In Prison" by John Clare, and "When You Leave" by Kimiko Hahn.

THIS BOOK HAS ME IN A DEATH GRIP.

This book has me in a chokehold.

April is over! Not a ton of poems I loved this month, but here were my favorites... "Childhood" by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, "miss rosie" by Lucille Clifton, "Incident" by Countee Cullen, and "Song Of The Galley - Slaves" by Rudyard Kipling. Honorary mentions go to "His Elegy" by Chidiock Tichborne, "#341" by Emily Dickinson, and "She Dwelt Among The Untrodden Ways" by William Wordsworth.

March was a great month of poems! Many favorites! They were "Upper Broadway" by Adrienne Rich, "The Sorrow Of Sarajevo" by Goran Simic, "Recuerdo" by Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Symptom Recital" by Dorothy Parker, and "She's Florida Missouri But She Was Born In Valhermosa And Lives In Ohio" by Thylias Moss. Special mentions to "Dream Variations" by Langston Hughes, "King Lear: Act V, Scene III" by William Shakespeare.

A little behind on my February poems, but there were several I liked this month. My favorites were "Things" by Jorge Luis Borges, "Jamesian" by Thom Gunn, "Upon Julia's Washing Herself In The River" by Robert Herrick (I love all the 'Julia' poems, to be honest), "The Helmsman" by H.D., and "A Sick Child" by Randell Jarrell. Special mentions to "Disclaimers" by Richard Howard and "The Snow Man" by Wallace Stevens.
