Not really reading at this point. Just leafing through enough to have something to say at book club.

I know I should love this book. Should praise it and rave about the intricate plot, social realism and the beautiful language. But I just feel meh. It does not live up to the hype and I don't know why it became a bestseller.

Vad jag har svårt att förstå är varför alla Capotes kvinnliga vänner tävlade om att vara inspirationen till Holly. En rasist och skamlös bedragerska och psykopat. Att en simp som författar-jaget älskar henne är förståeligt, Holly, i sin barnslighet, är vad alla hetero män drömmer om. Men varför vill en vara författarens inspiration till en så vidrig karaktär?

I'm only on chapter three. But have to ask; why is people so in love with this mediocre book? Does it get any better?

A horrible, shallow book filled with shallow and terrible people. Holly is the original manic pixie dreamgirl, so no wonder men loves her, despite her being manipulative and criminal and a terrible human being. I hate this book and can't understand why it's a classic or why Capotes friends competed to be known as the original Holly.

I was dissapointed by both Endgame and Court of Owls. But at least they had some interesting parts. So far Dark days has been un-interesting and just meh. Good artwork, but what happend to Snyders ability to at least write an if not good at least interesting story? And why is he in almost every Batman book he writes, so fixated on the Joker? To the point of re-writing the whole history of the Batfamily?

Two chapters in and still no mention of Mary Anning. Will continue go read and hope she or other female paleontologists show up.
