So nice to read a good romance again! Menon's portrayal of Indian parents and their ever critical, domineering, narcissistic selves is on point.

Shockingly good so far. The obsession with lightness is just so normalised, that me as a South Asian person reading this, can completely understand what is happening.

Am only a few pages in and there's two characters who are really anti South Indian? Like they just openly dislike South Indians and the MC just laughs about it? And there's a point where they mistake a city in Karnataka for one in Tamil Nadu and it's not fact checked in the book????????

Honestly, it's not good. It's kinda boring. The plot moves but it doesn't feel like it. This book was EVERYWHERE on bookstagram for a week and honestly, should tell everyone how much of a scam book influencers are.

I'm at the point where i am annoyed by her friend pushing her into very inappropriate situations and olive's willingness to be a doormat that does whatever her friend tells her to.

Really living up to the hype so far!
