It seems that ushered in a climate of permissiveness regarding government prosecutions in favor of settlements, and it was previously stated that such settlements are likely considered a cost of doing business by the violators.

The covering of the Enron trial was solid and engaging, conveying at least some of the excitement and concern about whether it was possible to bring those execs to justice.
