Reading aloud to my twin boys-Starts off so dark...We all love it...I asked if they were scared, but, almost nine, they are not scared of anything, or so they say...

Hope all my GR friends are very well and reading a ton of great books! My three boys have been sick, one after another, with a long lasting virus. Finally they all recovered, and then one of my twin sons came down with a new virus last night--we were up for hours! I am sure this will pass soon, and hope you know I am thinking of you and wish you all very well!!

Some books you like to savor, thinking about every detail as you read, and some you can't help but race through, needing to know what will happen at any cost...this is the latter, of course...completely hooked...

Magic realism combined with the harsh realities of an Alaska winter, woven into the layers of this fairytale retelling, makes this story so compelling and beautiful!

Love it so far...so touching...I want to protect Jack and Mabel's hearts from ever breaking...

This book makes me feel as if I am in France, experiencing the terror and unspeakable tragedies surrounding WWII...so moving and so vivid...it is definitely a page turner...tissues needed for the tears you may experience (wiping away tears).

As I am currently acting as St. Claus & Mrs. Claus, I have not had enough time to read, but I am determined to make time for this book!

I definitely am enjoying the voice of Mattie, who lives in upstate New York in 1906 in this award winning YA book by Jennifer Donnelly...good so far!

The writing is incredible (Kate Morton, Wow!), and the clues given along the way are pieces of a larger puzzle...just when you think a piece may be solved, there are more twists, further mystery and intrigue. I can already picture this as a film...(hope for the future!)

Atmospheric with a tragic unsolved mystery, flashbacks to different times in the distant past and the recent present, a great romance, and I am lost in the beautiful writing...so vivid...enjoying each character.

DNF--I just can't finish this right now, as I am skimming, page after page. It started off interesting, but then there are so many parts that are dragging for me, and that do not interest me. I believe that this book is not the one for me to read at this time. I would look at your other GR friends reviews, because they are expressed beautifully and have excellent points!!

...(breathes a sigh of relief)...this is really good so far...

I feel like I need to unstrap myself from the wild ride that is this book, whenever I need to close it and come back to the present reality. It is an amazing experience to travel to the future year that is 2044, and experience an entirely new virtual world, but at the same time to be brought back to an 80's reality, that plummets me back to the now time machine items of my past ; ).

Thankful that I'm reading the book vs the ebook for this...a better experience with all the scrapbook materials...I'm addicted so far...a road trip would be nice...

Love all of the mid-80's references combined with the sweet-first-love-romance
