Meh, having the hardest time getting into any book :/

You know how when you are reading or watching tv, the characters ignore the obvious questions in order to string along the reader/viewer? There's none of that. Thank you.

"Worrying was a form of control, Rosa had told me after some of our arguments. A desperate attempt to bend reality to fit an imagined picture in our minds. It was, almost without exception, imposing the future on the present. It was an insidious species of fear disguised as logic."

I could feel —this is such a perverse aspect of being human —a resistance to making peace. Why is that? I wonder. What is the draw of argument and dissension? Simply the urge to win? To blame every hardship on someone else? Surely this magnetism of discord is the root of war. I could feel it almost as if it were a living creature inside me.

"We make up stories about the other person. In our minds we build these stories - she is this way, he is that way; look, she always do this, he always do that - and then these things keep us from seeing this person full as they are in present moment."

Not reading any of the books listed at the moment. Sometimes adding a book to "Reading" seems to be a kiss of death.
