The other thing that saved me was being in a long-term romantic relationship. I tantrummed for years and when I was done, he was still there. With him I had all the emotions I had not been allowed to have as a child, because for the first time, I knew I was safe. Some deep part of me recognized that I could trust him, even though I didnt consciously believe this until years later.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this book.... Think I'm leaning towards weird and painfully cringe and even maybe slightly heartless/ unethical? I will grit my teeth and make it to the last page since I paid £9 for it ffs

Not really enjoying the language but good pace

She liked the city as an entity better; it didn’t care who you were or what your damage was, it ate everyone up indiscriminately
