A classic tale of greed. I mean I’ve read stories like this before and I know the lesson is “don’t be greedy” or “greed kills” or whatever. But the only thing I have learned is that easily earning wealth apparently makes you an idiot

Because the main characters of these stories are always unbelievingly stupid 💀

Any changes in books taste ? Do you still enjoy YA/Middle grade ? Any sort of burnout where you can’t read as quickly as before ? Would you change the ratings of your childhood favorites if you read them again ? Have you ever went through a massive book slump ?

I can literally swap Tessa with any other ya fantasy heroine and the storyline wouldn’t change a bit. They all share one…ONE brain cell.

PLOT TWIST….not really.

I mean… whenever a character wears a mask and the mc has ‘no idea who that is’. Like…there’s not many options left for me to guess.

Hehe…that being said, I like misunderstood villain trope a lot.

Does anyone here like reading 1 star reviews more than 5 stars reviews of any new books ?
Idk if I’m being pessimistic but I want to know why this book is hated more than why someone would like it.

Is there anyone here who didn’t like The Seven Husband of Evelyn Hugo and didn’t rate it low stars because everyone else liked it ?

I feel dumb, stupid and completely disappointed in myself.
15% in and I can’t understand anything or anyone for that matter.
In fact, I feel like I’m forcing myself to read this like if it’s my 10 grade history book which I need to pass some exam.

Also, this writing…this writing makes me feel extremely illiterate like if I just learned English yesterday.
DNF for now.

I think the most unrealistic part of this novel is that all the countries actually collaborated in saving the world without any sort of conflict.

Like..maybe I’m too pessimistic but even in the end of the world, I can’t imagine world leaders putting aside their differences.

Why do sci-fi books always make me feel incredibly stupid ?? 😭😭
I’m not that dumb but these terms…am I suppose to know them ??

Every sci-fi book I read is a hit at my intelligence level

Ok, so I thought Eragon was the name of the dragon this whole time ever since I knew of this book…

This case is sooo complicated.
I really don’t know what to think of it.

But what it did make realize is that people online love to play justice online without knowing the whole story !
Who gave them the right to decide on someone’s whole life like that ?

Also, people online also just need an excuse to be racist or homophobic , like a justification.
The point is…there isn’t any.

The first two parts of this book is about Sasha and Richard separately talking about their lives before the fire.

And the contrast is almost unbelievable. However, The topics discussed in both the parts are important and representative of their lives.

“Surely it’s not too late to stop things from going wrong. There must be some way to wake Sasha. Divert Richard. Get the driver to stop the bus.
There must be something you can do.”

Finally attempting to go out of my comfort zone and reading a non fiction.

This book…is going nowhere which is normal for a character driven novel.
But the thing about character driven novel is I have to be actually interested in the characters to like the novel….

I don’t know about her but I am 100% that kind of person. I would also memorize extra just in case.
