I've watched plenty of superhero shows and movies, but I'm not sure I've read one before. This one is a lot of fun and very unique with the main character having super hair! (Now that I think of it, there are maybe a little Rapunzel vibes in there if Rapunzel's hair was caused by superhero mutation instead of magic, LOL)

A) This is absolutely adorable and exactly what my heart wanted right now. B) I loooooove that the audiobook narrator is reading this in a western accent! Too perfect!

I have a lot of authors that I love, but there are few like Roseanna who can so thoroughly suck me in so fast! She knows exactly where to start the story and her style is just so smooth and easy, and the dialogue so engaging and realistic. I love knowing that I can pick up one of her books and skip the reading slump I sometimes get for a few days when switching from one book world to another.

Okay, I got the ebook from my library, and seeing the words and punctuation on the page, I don't think the audio is an AI narrator, I think the issue is that the narrator doesn't quite "get" the flow that the writing has. This author has a rhythm to her words that is almost poetic despite being prose and the narrator just isn't quite picking it up, thus causing the moments where the reading feels off.

This is giving Hallmark Mystery Movie (which I enjoy.)

Re the audiobook: Is this AI narration? It's credited to actress Zakiya Young, but sometimes there's an odd little question mark in her voice where it doesn't seem to belong. Without text, I can't tell if it's a problem with the writing or the narration. Maybe I should get the book from my library and compare...
