Okay, so I've started to realize that the "Collective" has a lot of resemblances to ancient Rome except... futuristic. AND YES I DID SEE THAT NOD TO PAUL'S CONVERSION EXPERIENCE, MS. YOUNG. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE AND I LOVE IT.

Loving these new characters and locations!

Welp, since I had to order a replacement copy of the other book I was reading, I'm going to read this while I wait for that to ship. :p Been looking forward to it for a while!

I was seriously not expecting to enjoy this so much, but I am!

So... I bought this book used and it may be the 1st edition from when the story was originally published in 2007, though I didn't realize that when I bought it. I just got to page 32, only to discover that page 33 is the endorsements. Again. Then the title page. Again. Then the first 32 pages of story repeat until suddenly it jumps to page 65! I'm not happy, and I think I need a new copy of the book. *headdesk*

This book has been on my want-to-read list since before I joined Goodreads in 2015. Good to finally get my hands on it!

I'm really, really, really enjoying Stiefvater's writing style!

Giving this a whack on audio. I adore the movie Brave, so I'm pretty nervous about whether or not I'll like this spin-off, not the least because I've never read anything by Stiefvater before. BUT I'm going to try, and hope that I do enjoy it. :)

Close to the end! This is one of the few books with hints of romance where I've had moments of wondering if the two characters are going to get together or not. And I've got to know who's been writing in Aurelie's notebook!

Something I love about this series is the faith content. It's up front, no hiding, no softening, no shame. The characters pray and sometimes touch on scripture. But it never EVER feels like it's preaching AT the reader. It all just flows so naturally from the story, the world, and the characters' struggles, fears, hopes, etc. When I include faith content in my own stories, I hope I can handle it with this much skill.

I feel like Silas is more than he says he is, and I'm very curious to find out if I'm right. And also, what's going on with the notes from Nathaniel Droll??? I'M SO CONFUSED, BUT IN A GOOD WAY. XD

This is good! A very creative twist on Cinderella. I like that it's not following the original so closely as to be predictable, but I can still see recognizable elements.

I'm only 17% in and I've gotten misty-eyed twice now. :p
