Why is it that when many men write tales of fantasy, the women in their books contend with devolved rights and simplistic purposes? Is that what they enjoy reading about? Oh how grand and entertaining it is that the intelligence, status, and purpose of women mirror something out of the dark ages, right? I don't agree. Because, as a woman, it would be truly grand to hear of a world where we were truly equal.

Her chapters are really drawn out and annoying.

I'm loving this.

For a street smart thief, this character sure is stupid. I don't like stupid characters. Anybody who lives by the blade like she does would be a lot smarter.

I'm not crazy about how the narrator is voicing the female character. He's making her sound like a petulant child. Only a petulant child. Not a street savvy young woman. Sure she's got her arrogant in ignorance moments but that's not her 24/7.

Yeah! Take your time talking about random horseshit instead of passing the relevant information along as quickly as possible. Just fucking TELL them. I'll do whatever it takes, but I'm so scared and I can't move. And Darin. And his rippling muscles. And my oowies. JFC

I hate her. I really can't stand this person.

I can't stand this female protagonist. Maybe because I'm not a "young adult" reader but her cowardly demeanor is almost painful to listen through. I hope it changes.

Very frustrating listening to these characters acting so useless. The female character is a dithering mess of inaction and sheepishness, the male character is a bad actor. You know when you're watching a movie where the protagonist is trying to act cool to get out of a bad situation but their demeanor is so "guilty," that they should be found out? These characters read the same way.

Timothy Dalton should be sought by writers to read everything.

His voice and performance are exquisite.

You know, for once I would like to read a book that doesn't rape women or threaten women with rape, or tell historical tales of rapes. ENOUGH WITH THE FUCKING RAPE! When I want to get into a book, I want to escape from the terrible realities of life here and now, I do NOT want to be reminded that, no matter where I go, what I see, how many dragons or magicians or time portals ... women are raped.

This is really great.

Usually only listening during mowing or on the elliptical which is why it's taking forever. I love it, though.

At chapter 6: rare that a book has me saying "wow this is awesome" during the reading.
