I am so glad Bettie and Cecile finally get to be together and the boat did not sink.

Unbelief is s terrible thing. And so is the hurt we cause others unknowingly.

People we thought would be with us forever aren't and people we didn't know come into our lives, do. Our work here is to keep the faith with that, to put it in a box and wait.

Don't seek joy at all costs.

I think about my sister Nettie. Thought so sharp it go through me like a pain. Somebody to run to. It seemed too sweet to bear.

Just finished first short story. Disturbing and somehow a page-turner...brilliant.

Emily G writes effortlessly as keeps the story moving fast-paced where you almost feel like you are already watching the flickering images of a movie with the characters in vivid color right in front of you to touch and feel.
