Machel is finished with The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August
Page turning read...at times. Really enjoyed first person narrative of Harry August.
The ending satisfied. The middle felt heavy & cumbersome in my mind to follow but that doesn't mean the book wasn't still fabulous. Even if the time jumps, the different perspectives, surrounding circumstances were too much for me to decipher, I still wanted to know if Harry could catch up with Vincent. I liked Harry after all...

My 18 year old son is a prolific reader and recommended Harry August to me.
Fascinating..almost 100 pages read. Something about this book reminds me of The Magus by John Fowles, which I read early 90's I think. My intrigue keeps me reading. Harry just sent a letter to biological father. Now he is with Virginia at The Cronus Club.

Machel is reading The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells
"But we do wake, each of us, to find things have gone differently. The love we thought had killed us has not killed us after all, and the dream we had for ourselves has shifted elsewhere, like a planet our starship is set for; we have but to lift our heads and right ourselves, move toward it once again and start the day.

I love how the author shares real life personal experiences woven into books he shares and reviews. I already ordered and read one of them. Now I am back here, reading to my heart's content under the afternoon sunlight reading as much as I can of this glorious book.

Machel is finished with Night Lights: Bedtime Stories for Parents in the Dark
Loved these essays by Phyllis. Poignant, & reflective, anyone would enjoy this book as a bedside table staple, especially if you are a parent. I loved reading about the 80s time period, too. How lucky for parents back then
