Love, love, LOVE this trilogy, but I have yet to find any redeeming qualities in Jacob. Backstabbing in the first book aside, he's just worthless as a character.

That being said, he's a decent enough jumping-off point for all the other amazing characters I've found myself so attached to in this series, and as I near the end, i find myself realizing i'll miss him, too.

Got this and another book out from the library yesterday.
Suspended a book I was reading and not really feeling (but will return to) to start on them instead.
I regret nothing. ^-^

If enough people write in 'Gandalf' or 'Harry Dresden' or 'Tony Stark', do you think one of them could actually get elected?

A little depressed to be finishing this trilogy, it's been real.

Mm... Teetering on a rating here. We'll have to see if this superhype ending is as good as it honesty *should* be.
There's already a sequel, so i have this sinking feeling...

But there's a One-Punch Man marathon that ain't gonna watch itself, so finishing tomorrow (i hope). ^-^

I like this story, and the writing is good, but as of yet i feel nothing for the characters...

Yael's priorities impress me. Adele's brother sounds very good-looking, and this Luka guy sounds like the 'well-meaning' douchebag most YA girls go for, and so far she's resisting them both.
Hope this continues.

Also, I applaud the point that Hitler didn't just hate a single faction. Any non-Aryans (like little ol' gypsy Czech me) were despised.

I wound up with some pretty edition of this, softcover with black-edged pages. Says "Maggie's Little Black Book edition' on the first page.
Cool. I bought it used for like three bucks.
Books aren't really decorations for me, but still, this one's nice looking.

3rd zombie book of the year, and the first one i've liked.

Did somebody say World War II infodump?

I mean, most of it is the alternate history (that's not a spoiler, read the blurb. If you don't know that's automatically alternate history, you're more of a cretin than I am) that serves as the world building for the book, but still, my brain is ouchy.

Got this out from the library yesterday so I'm adding it here.
I have it out until September 6th thanks to Labor Day weekend so I'll probably finish Sick first.

Went to my library for the first time in a couple months today, and the place has been revamped! :D
Our young adult section is twice as big as it used to be, and we now have a graphic novel shelf.
They had a huge sale after the automation process back in March and they used the funds wisely.
Taking my nephew to their new story program next week ^-^

So this is the third book I'll have read this year that was blurbed as
"The Breakfast Club meets X"
The other two were Project 17 (Breakfast Club/Blair Witch) and The Harrowing (Breakfast Club/Poltergeist), both of which I liked, so Breakfast Club/Walking Dead should be good.

I was in the city yesterday so I made a side trip to my favorite comic store.

Hearne toned his humor down to a Star Wars level, (seriously, can you imagine Luke saying some of the stuff Atticus does?) but it's definitely still there.

Hoping this one turns out to be better than Winter Soldier: Man on the Wall.
I've read Remender before and I love his work, so I'm excited.

This is SUCH an awesome concept; Luke figuring what the hell he's supposed to do now that he's an intergalactic hero.
How is a farm boy from Tatooine supposed to deal with THAT?

I actually owned this before I started reading Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles (got this and Hounded for Christmas last year). Set following Episode IV, told from Luke's perspective, and is stated to be 'Luke learning the ways of the Force'. So, like, Star Wars meets The Karate Kid? Arr arragh! (Wookiee for 'sweet!')

This book started out a little creepy, did a 180 into completely disgusting, and has just gone EXTREMELY unsettling. I... I don't know what I'll have to say. Review for sure, but at the moment i'm at a loss.

This is like... A horror book. For adults. But for kids. But not.

YA horror done RIGHT. This is awesome.

Reviewing this series is so hard. Every page is quotable, whether it be piss yourself hilarious or so poignant it's scary. I want to quote ALL of chapter 22, (it's 2 pages) which has Atticus and his merry men witnessing two frost giants making the beast with two backs, then breaking into song to try and salvage their minds' eyes. How do you QUOTE that?!

The Vampire's Tale . Leif, this better be good. If it is, you can go sit at the cool kids' not sparkly vampire table with Thomas and Lestat.

So a Roman god is coming after you... And the vampire and the Druid get into a Shakespeare quote battle. Hearne, I love you.

I'm completely Agnostic, but even I think eating fish n chips and pounding Irish Car Bombs with Jesus sounds like a riot.
