actually found the jingjing chapters easier to read than the cas/bobby ones so far, ig cuz jingjing's is easily understood to be a complete liberation from all sense where there's a lot of textured scientific and technological detail in cas'. still, enjoying absolutely every aspect and POV in this book. unbelievably fun even when it's being impenetrable

fuck this is brutal, concise prose and i'm seeing a thread horror deeply rooted in human psychology and emotionality over the rational. "ammon" has been especially hard hitting so far

100 pages in and i have already witnessed one of the trippiest sequences i have read in literature. xanther is absolutely lovable already and this has already completely drawn me in, i have a feeling this series might be special
