C.J. is reading Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm: A New English Version
...this? Mad good. It's the stories, that show up in pieces, and you always know there's a little missing when you pick up the Italian folk version; or the several seeming similar in Grimm. Pullman's gathered up the bones, and set them in a single skeleton without inserting his own voice or agenda.

Bloody best ... like a firecracker at midnight on Guy Fawkes

C.J. is reading In a Glass Grimmly (A Tale Dark and Grimm, #2)
Oy, not half so deep, nor so clever -- nor even so side-splitting -- as his first run at faerie through a Grimm lens.

I've perhaps two pages til I finish . . . but I haven't read them, because I don't want it to be finished.

If all social networking platforms were reading based, 'twould be a story to tell . . .aside from being rather a more interesting read.

"We're all Christians in this room, though, perhaps," he added, glancing around at the reeling crowd, "not strict ones."

Deft memoir. Detail like child's eye through fence nooks. And fairy tale edges to a communist occupied Eastern Europe.

...er, it went back to the library as someone else apparently had requested it. Tch. But that is why I've been on page 100 for months.

C.J. is reading Bridge of Birds (The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox, #1)
A peculiarity amongst peculiars. All mish-mash of myth, folktellers voice, and the delineations of Chinese culture. Bloody good for getting one's mind off the grooved path of routine.
