C.J. is on page 154 of 335 of Mrs. Perivale and the Blue Fire Crystal
Though the names are skip-jigging fun (including the author's), the text isn't

C.J. is finished with Heartseeker (Heartseeker #1)
A well-voiced romp; a well-grounded world. Worth a spin, and well-worth getting to know Only, whose heart sits at the center of this fantasy yarn.

I am not behind schedule. I'm just behind schedule recalled all the books I've read, and remembering to put them on goodreads

C.J. is reading Tolkien's Ordinary Virtues: Exploring the Spiritual Themes of the Lord of the Rings
A fair jaunt of a meditation. A good book rarely inspires secondary source work worth the dally, but Smith's reflections are more a visit to the pages of Tolkien, less a study, and manage by that path to miss the pitfall of chattering over silences meant to remain silent, or rehashing like a weed wacker. Easy read, humbly written.

Can you get better than real essays? Oy. I'm a Chesterton-Montaigne-Tolkien-Thoreau-Wendell-Berry essay-flaneur. I like to stroll down the lanes of exploration and intellectual discovery -- naught of which is offered by most schools or publications asking for the modern 5 paragraph monster of blandness. These be brill. or, most of them are.

Oy, rollicking good ride here of a book -- nostalgic for summers as a kid reading adventures.

Er, except it's in Spanish -- and this edition doesn't seem to be. Isn't it a Spanish book?

C.J. is on page 200 of 358 of China Court: The Hours of a Country House
Rumer Godden layers -- 's rather like being bundled under wool, down duvet, sheets. Except they're sedimentary, and each layer, warm, is a keyhole into a character, an era, something tangible of smells and feelings; something close and inexplicably past and observed.
