Considering dumping this one. Unlike a lot of other Pratchett novels this one seems like childish nonsense.

This started out good but I think the author is trying too hard to make it noir.

James Lee Burke is on my list that affectionately call 'authors I see all the time that are probably crap'.
So far this one is better than others I have indeed discounted as crap (James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell). It's more hard boiled nature and less police procedural.

Despite having a week off I didn't get very far with this. Just not getting into the story at all.

2/3 in and the pace is starting to pick up.

One hour into the book and so much is explained here that was not in either of the movies.

Some of this is great, some of it is stupid.

Rather enjoying the world building and storytelling in this more than I though I would.

Talk about dark and gritty. I haven't come across a single likable clean cut character yet.

Not having read much Steampunk, I am finding this a refreshing read.

My first British Noir crime novel. I didn't even know this genre existed but then again I guess that's what the early Guy Richie movies are.

Will Wheaton reading Scalzi's humor on the audiobook version. A win-win :)

Too much latin in this book with no translation or explanation. At first I was looking it up, but now I find myself just skipping it.

I wish I had read this before 'The Others' by Joe Walton just for the explanation of a 'karass'.

Good stuff, but I'm thinking the ending os going to be rushed to wrap this up in the last 200 pages.

It took me almost 6 months to get this audio book from the library so I hope it's worth the wait.

This seem a bit like the author is making the story as convoluted as possible.

Another book on the NPR Top 100 SF/Fantasy books list.

A typical classic Agatha Christie. Many suspects with motives but none of them match up with any opportunity. I think I spotted a clue but I bet I am wrong.

Enjoying this much more that 'Dead Until Dark'.

After being a bit disappointed with 'Dead Until Dark' I am continuing my urban fantasy reading with the first of another series. I hope this one is better.
