Pia is an insecure character. She is a literally perfect and immortal, but she is still insecure the book says, " But as I follow Uncle Paolo to the laboratory, my bootlaces trailing in the mud and my hands clutching a struggling sparrow, the last thing I feel is perfect. This shows how Pia is insecure.

Jacob is an intelligent character. He figured out that Golan's threat could be fake. This book says, " First of all, we don' t know that this is Miss Crow or Miss Raven. It could just as easily been a picture of a regular crow.And if Golan was going to kill Miss Peregrine and Miss Avocet why would he go to all the trouble of kidnapping them"(307)? This shows that Jacob uses logic and is very intelligent.

Ransom Riggs used figurative language. The book says,"Fog closed around us like a blindfold "(66).This quote means that they couldn't see through the fog. The fog was so thick that they couldn't see through it. That is how Ransom Riggs used figurative language in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Rufus Scrimgeour isn't respectful to Dumbledore. He wouldn't give Harry the Sword of Gryffindor when Dumbledore left it to Harry in his will. The story says,"Unfortunately, says Scrimgeourthat sword was not Dumbledore's to give away"(129). This is not respectful to Dumbledore because he wanted to give it to Harry.

Dobby is devoted to Harry. He worked extremely hard at the task Harry gave him even though Dobby is a free elf. The story says," Well...they've been following Malfoy for me...Dobby has not slept for a week, Harry Potter"(451)! This shows how devoted Dobby is to Harry.

Harry Potter is quick to accuse someone of a crime. After Katie Bell was abducted by the necklace, Harry immediately accused Draco. The book says, "This is what he was buying that day when we followed him! He remembered and came back for it"(251)! This shows that Harry is quick to jump to conclusions and to accuse Draco.

Dolores Umbridge is a cruel,discriminatory character. She hates people that are different from her. Sirius told Harry, "Apparently she loathes part-humans;she campaigned to have merpeople rounded up and tgged last year too"(302). She treats them like they don't have any feelings or intelligence. That is why Professor Umbridge is a cruel, discriminatory character.

One of the themes of the Order of the Phoenix is that barely anyone believes Harry and Dumbledore that Voldemort is back. "He says he saw Cedric Diggory murdered... He reckons he dueled with You-Know-Who.....Come off it....Who does he thinks he's kidding"(250). They don't believe Harry that he saw and fought Voldemort. That is one of the themes of the Order of the Phoenix.

I used context clues to figure out the word abysmal. "Another Remembrall?" said Harry, remembering the marblelike device Neville's grandmother had sent him in an effort to improve his abysmal memory"(186). I think abysmal means poor because Neville's grandmother wanted to improve it.That is how I used context clues to figure out what abysmal means.

J.K. Rowling used figurative language. She said that Harry felt like his heart was swelling up and he couldn't speak. "His heart, which seemed to have swollen to an unnatural size, was thumping loudly under his ribs...Twice he looked up at Fudge and opened his mouth to speak, but his swollen heart was now constricting his air passages and both times he merely took a deep breath and looked back at his shoes"(150).

Molly Weasley treats Harry like a seventh son. She didn't him to hear what was going on in the Order,so he wouldn't get scared. "He's not a member of the Order of the Phoenix! He's only fifteen and--"(88). Mrs Weasley is protecting Harry from the dangers of the world. Mrs Weasley treats Harry like a seventh son.

Isabel cares about Curzon. She snuck into the prison he was in to give him food. If she didn't do this, Curzon probably would have died! Dibdin, a free man in Curzon's cell takes Curzon's food just because he's a slave "How dare you let him starve, I yelled. "He's a slave. He will not be treated the same as free men"(237). Isabel got very angry that Curzon was starving. Isabel cares about Curzon.

Isabel is selfless and caring. She left all she had left of Ruth in the fire to save Lady Seymour."Help me! Lady Seymour cried"(193). Isabel saved Lady Seymour and lost all she had left of Ruth in the process. That proves Isabel is selfless and caring.

Madam Lockton is cold hearted and selfish character. She sent her out to go grocery shopping when it was extremely dangerous outside. "...but the cannons ma'am...the battle"(174). Isabel could have been killed! Madam put her groceries before a living person who served her! This shows that Madam Lockton is selfish and cold-hearted.

Isabel is a very sad character. She was overcome with melancholy after she was branded and returned to the Lockton's house. "Melancholy held me hostage, adn the bees built a hive of sadness in my soul.Dark honey filled up inside me, drowning my thoughts and making it hard to move my eyes and my hands"(157). She was paralyzed by sadness. Isabel is a very sad character.

Barty Crouch is quick to accuse anybody. When Harry,Ron,and Hermione are found near where the Dark Mark was conjured. "Which one of you did it? he snapped, hisnsharp eyes darting between them. "Which one of you conjured the Dark Mark"(130)? None of them would know how, and why would Harry conjure the mark of the person who killed his parents? Barty Crouch is quick to accuse people.

(follow up on last update) "He couldn't leave Alby alone ...Climb,wrap,push,tie off..This is where they'd his. Or make their stand."

Thomas is a very daring,brave and smart character. He was very daring when he broke the number 1 rule, don't go into the maze at night. That was extremely brave because the grievers come out at night. He was smart when he figured out how to tie himself and Alby on the wall so the grievers wouldn't attack them. Thomas was smart when he did the "wait and divert" trick. Thomas is a brave,smart,and daring character.

Sadie is an intelligent character. She figured out how to save them from being burned in the Lake of Fire. "It's a line from the Book of Ra. We can't turn around. We have to go over-straight into the lake. ... I need to paint your forehead. ... I painted the glyphs for fire and sheild on his forehead,and immediately my brother burst into flame"(347). They made it out of the lake! Evidently, Sadie is a smart character
