Jacob is an intelligent character. He figured out that Golan's threat could be fake. This book says, " First of all, we don' t know that this is Miss Crow or Miss Raven. It could just as easily been a picture of a regular crow.And if Golan was going to kill Miss Peregrine and Miss Avocet why would he go to all the trouble of kidnapping them"(307)? This shows that Jacob uses logic and is very intelligent.

Ransom Riggs used figurative language. The book says,"Fog closed around us like a blindfold "(66).This quote means that they couldn't see through the fog.
