Having trouble with this book club book, and maybe I'm simply playing it too fast. I'm really interested in the social constructs that get these women into their situations, but I'm having trouble keeping track of all the people and names. Hmm.

Chapters 3-5 were edited today, and it went blessedly smoothly, despite taking out entire pieces of broken lore. We met a giant misty doggo of death, tore off pieces of someone's soul, and told off exactly one father.

Off to bed for now, and back in the morning for more!

Chapters One and Two are edited! With one character deleted completely, chapter one has a nicer feel to it, in my opinion :B

I'm only 2 hours into this 17-hour book, but I'm suspicious. I don't tend to enjoy a lot of the most popular fiction, but this seems... good. I've never read V.E. Schwab, but at the very least, the writing style is beautiful.

The author just did something I'm very enthusiastic about and I did message them at 10pm to be like WHAT OMG YOU MONSTER but all in good fun XD

This book is already a work of art and I've barely started. I'm excited to have a little more brain power this week to read it!

Currently I'm loving this book. The book is set in Oxfordshire in 1535, but the audiobook delivery of lines like "well my mother could go fuck herself, that's what" are SO DELIGHTFUL. Probably the best book I've read where the MC starts out as a mostly unlikeable rich bitch teenager and grows into a badass. Can't believe I found this by accident

I found this book on Hoopla and at around a quarter of the way in, I'm having a pretty good time. A snarky young woman with snappy dialogue going to live with witches? Yes sir.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I'm certainly having a great time with the dialogue and some of it has made me laugh out loud. I remain unused to softer books, but they're also a good change of pace for me

I'm having a hard time with this book so far. I'm here to learn about the history of piracy but this author is very interested in developing the motivations of everyone around the advent of piracy to a degree that I'm unable to follow. I think we're getting to the meat of things now, but it's been a long road to establish those separate histories

There's a lot of solid info in here and I'm learning a lot. AND I'm reminded that the book industry needs to be more diverse because this book has shown several cases of lack of emotional intelligence. After this, I'm going to return to Craft in the Real World to balance these perspectives.
