I do not want to go to sleep. This book is a masterpiece

This book is constant amazing lines which are either introspective knives to the reader's back or sick burns like this:

"I loved that face once. I love it still, I think. As much as you can love your greatest disappointment."

I wasn't sold on this book at first because the characters aren't in my usual wheelhouse. They're making choices I wouldn't, they're rough in a way I don't vibe with. And once I pushed past that, I could see the story of grief, closeted self-hatred, found family... I am now having an excellent time and thinking about this book all day

The hard part about getting excellent sleeps lately is that i've been on the last 10% of this book for a week because I'm falling asleep too quickly XD

The difference between a book I'm reading and a book I'm READING is when I'm craving to get back into it before my scheduled bedtime reading. When do I get to sit down again?

I've been wanting to read this for years because as a kid, we had the TV series on VHS. It stuck pretty hard and probably is part of the "Cat writes weird stuff someday" starter pack. It's a product of its time and has some problematic stuff in it, and it's a neat experience to remember the show scene by scene as well

This read is going pretty well for a random $1 book I grabbed at a library sale
