This is one weird pulp story.

Just finished “Hound of the Baskervilles” and Fry’s reading is a thing of wonder. In itself, it is almost as much fun as the stories themselves.

I'm quite annoyed that in the 13th book of the series, the pronunciation of "Manticoran" has been changed. I say this realizing it was and has been mispronounced all along, but it's inconsistent and takes me out of the story at times.

It's been a while since I read this. I've listened to the first couple of hours and nothing is ringing any bells.

This is an interesting cast of characters. Some we've met before, and some not.

There are times the bad voices (all female), the narrator uses, get in the way of the story. It may be that when finished listening, a reading may be in order.

The narrator of this audiobook is ill-suited to this cast of characters

Political intrigue is gonna make the bomb pumped lasers fly...

Political intrigue will lead to another body count. Plus, Weber does a good job of showing hubris in action.

The background is long, but needed for the coming fun and games.

Again, lots of exposition but that's Weber's style.

Intriguing watching Morpheus being drawn out from apathy to wanting to know what's going on. Also, I enjoy the patience he shows Delirium.

Hearing this book (and the others) rather than reading it, brings a new level of interest and depth. The narrator's voicing of Honor is terrific.

I like the different narrative approach this go 'round.
