My goal is to finish this entire book today.. let’s see if I can do it.

I was listening to the 2008 version... Turns out there's also a 2018 so I'm going to change to that one (which is this one)

So.. the family lives on a large plantation in the south that’s been there for centuries and they kept and repurposed the “slave quarters” and they have an old black woman who cooks for them.. hmm.. 🤔

I tend to avoid books related to soldiers and war but thus far I'm really enjoying this. There is ALOT of valuable information.

It’s so weird that there are parents who just like don’t tell their kids stuff??? If you want your kids to tell you things and be honest with you, you have to do the same!

I’m honestly really over how every YA book main character has to have a pushy friend who pushes them to do things they DONT want to do. Where are all the main characters who just say “no, I don’t want to” ????

This book is sending so many mixed messages. You should NOT confess your feelings to your friend if they’re in a relationship. That is SERIOUSLY messed up. It puts them in such an uncomfortable position and shows you have no respect for their current relationship. Stop this trend.
