My reading goal probably has already been high centered. Shouldn't have picked a couple of 900 pagers to start the year.

Perhaps my favorite line thus far: "Women are apt to make many words where a few would do much better." This in the middle of a entire chapter telling us that someone is dead: Including all of the appointments he has, what food he would eat, and whether his chair would be more comfortable if made from a (long list) of other wood. Just say "dude be dead" and move on.

No author pulls you into a story faster than this dude.

These books are just flat-out great. Helps that the audiobook version is performed ridiculously well. Hooked.
