The old always complain the youth mess with the language, and the language from the age before was always purer.
This has been an argument that stretches back to the early beginnings of language. Even Cicero complains in 49 B.C. that the contemporary Latin spoken then was more barbarous than that spoken 100 years before.
The point is that language doesn't get simpler, but rather its form changes constantly.
