A joy to read aloud!

Meh. Good ideas, some good characters, but the most interesting part of the hook is taking too long to get to, and not enough sense of urgency to continue holding interest.

Imagining Blenheim as just a 'suburb' of Auckland, Janet Frame writes with incredible detail about an author trying to write fiction, moving from her home in Taranaki to Berkley, sister city of Blenheim. But this is all fiction too, and Frames rich prose moves through poetic accompaniments effortlessly, never falters and enriches the lives of every character the ink falls on.

No apparent plot, but damn the writing is enjoyable!
