Just want to add an update, here: I do enjoy Rothfuss' writing, and fully intend to read Wise Man's Fear. That being said, the book is chauvinist. Literally the only female characters in the book are the main character's mother, his love interest, and a damsel in distress. While Kvothe overall is a likable character, he is undeniably a Mary Sue.
