Yay for non judgemental characters.

Things are coming together according to my theories.

The narrator is amazing at manipulating his voice.

So, I skipped The Elite but I don't get the feeling that I'm missing much.

I want to shake most of these characters, but only because I really like them (?) I'm really enjoying understanding every single one of Julia's French phrases, although the more of them there are the less worldly and more pretentious she seems.

I went into this expecting a straight up retelling of 'The Great Gatsby' but it's more inspired by than anything else.

This is the part I heard about on 'This American Life' , and the majority of the reason I didn't stop reading (good choice btw - it gets better).

I am so bored by this

I'm not liking this as much as I did on the first attempt. For one, the narrator is quite snobby and unlikeable, I'm not quite buying the narration style, and it's got very few of the aspects I love in Historical Fiction.

I considered continuing on from where I left off last time (more than a year ago), but that would've been confusing at every turn.

My heart just broke. Laura Ruby is fantastic at accomplishing this apparently.

There's nothing like a library due date to motivate me to read a book I haven't touched in over a month.

I was hoping for something in the vein of Murder on the Orient Express, but this is okay too.

I can't keep any of these characters straight.

Progress is slow, but this is plenty addictive.

Just as bad as I expected it (New Adult) to be and also just as entertaining.
