Fantastic Homer fan-fic!

A little disappointed with the section on schools, which gave a very brief blurb on NCLB, then dismissed the achievement gap with what I see as some very faulty reasoning. I could be on board with the idea that the gap isn’t THE problem, but it certainly points to a whole set of problems that schools shouldn’t be exempt from addressing (in coordination with pretty much every other American institution).

Wish I were enjoying this more.

Strange how the Big Famous Adventures feel more like frivolous errands, folded as they are within the Nausicaa frame-tale. This book has neither the structure nor the emphasis I was expecting.

Not the most prestigious edition or translation, but this is after all (somehow) a first read.

Delighted to be reading this while my own wife is pregnant with our first.

Probably the most “experimental” thing I’ve read in awhile, after being turned off by the godawful La Medusa. This, thankfully, is not that. Quite beautiful so far.
