Holy shit. There is some serious brutality to this book. And not even like, people killing each other, but the repercussions of even small political machinations upon each other. Shits fucking real.

When you can’t focus on reading, you audiobook one of your favorites.

Well I've surprised myself. By page 4 of a new book I didn't think I'd like it and by page 9 I knew I wouldn’t. I then looked the author up and she’s previously written urban fantasy/romance. I’m currently trying to pass it off to a friend who likes those genres.

Who am I that within 9 pages of a book I can tell if it’ll work for me? And where was this person last year?

Damn this audiobook is good. And honestly? The reimagining of slavery with the walking dead? Man. It is freaking hard to listen to some of this.

I’m really wondering if I should have read this instead of the audiobook. I’m definitely feeling myself distancing from the story.

I’m not a tab your book kind of girl, but you can bet I’m tabbing so many things right now!

Earthquakes are freaking terrifying and my nerves have been completely shot since this morning when a big one struck here in Alaska.

So.

Kiss your loved ones and tell them you care. Because today I definitely called mine. Even the ones I don’t like because this shit is scary.

For the last 4 days I have made a conscious effort to reduce my TBR. This has resulted in 56 physical books leaving my house (along w/32 I'd already read). I also decided to go a step FURTHER and start going through my want to read shelf.


Holy smokes is there some old stuff there. So far I've dropped 300!

Today I pulled out all of my read books from under my bed (I don’t have a lot of room in my room). After 1.5 hours I’ve got 33 to donate/trade for credit, including a bunch of ARC’s. My goal for tomorrow is to find 17 more from my TBR. It was wonderful and liberating and sure there’s a knee high pile hidden in my closet so I don’t look at it because I’m not sure about those ones BUT STILL. Happy.
