Bloody interesting and well thought out arguments!

I'm enjoying it, but too often saying - for chrissakes just shoot!

I seem to have been reading this book forever...

The intro was interesting. The 'story' isn't so much a story as a fictional recounting of a trip... characters aren't 'strong' but identifiable. We'll see how it goes :)

Slowly, slowly... a murder, a detective, some clones and scary woman.

More details about the different races and magic... enjoying it still!

It is all quite mysterious... who or what is behind it all?

There's a definite feeling of kung fu movies, of the mysticism about this that I really enjoy!

Holy Heck! I never knew about the 1920s/1930s Eugenics programme in the USA and the forced sterilisation of tens of thousands of women!

Nor the aspect of Prohibition where the Government introduced poison into alcohol to put people off drinking it!

I'm not in favour of gun ownership, but I'm beginning to see why people might be scared of their Government!

Getting close to the end... who will survive?

There's the odd info dump and aside when a new character is introduced... never my favourite thing (3 pages on Genghis Khan's history...) but the story is moving again.

A couple of deaths and a man who is not all he seems to be... or maybe he is more?

The style is very different - like Ken Liu's Grace of Kings (or maybe this should be the other way around) there is a different tone than a "western" fantasy - more telling than we are accustomed to, but the story is flowing.

Just got past all the intro, character glossary and prefaces... now, on with book!
