The support for hedge funds in the final chapter almost seems muffled. The saving grace of hedge-funds seems to be that they are too small to fail. An inquiry into corporate culture prevalent at banks and hedge-funds remains touched. Still the author brings his rich experience in his account of the industry. This is a book that someone new to the subject can immensely benefit from.

A lot of things seem to happen in the background - at expensive lunches and during vacations to exotic lands. There is an attempt by the author to subtly reassert our perceptions of hedge-funds as an insulated world of elite financiers.

Clearly, the last parts of the book are not as exciting - partly because we already know what Paul Tudor Jones or Hank Paulson are known for. The quantitative explanations fall short of rigour - problems which earlier parts of the book are devoid of.
