I'm not really sure how to figure out what percent/page I'm on in the Kindle version because of the two prefaces. Anyway, I've read the older preface and am waiting to read the newer one once I'm done. The older one was entertaining in parts but overall I felt a bit sad at the way the abridger talked about his relatives. Probably just dry wit? But seemed to cut a bit close... hoping the rest isn't like that.

I haven't been able to put it down. I had thought the grandmother would be different. Interesting way the author handles relationships. So much going on.

Intriguing... also if they ever make this into a movie, they may have to leave Astrid's substory out as I'm not sure how it would fit in to a 2 hr movie.

Still feeling quite stressful. Also making me think about networking in a social sense and how people do it.

How stressful! I'm glad I'm not in her position.

Enjoying so far. It's been nice to read with a cold-muddled mind, as it isn't too hard to understand what's happening etc. Hopefully my next update will be more coherent...

On my eReader the family tree is so small I've had to look it up instead on my phone and download from Google Images.

Sad times in that last section. :( Anyway, I was surprised to see a new section (guess the length of each has been getting shorter), but it makes sense coz they're going to need a serious time jump to reach where they're going before the end of the book! Onward!

When women write men from the man's point of view, their moment by moment thoughts etc, I wonder how accurate it really is. Anyway, I think I have reached the final section! :O will miss this book

I'm curious if he just has unlimited money for storytelling purposes or if he's really not thinking about the future to that extent. I mean, how is he funding this trip and food out, trinkets and a helping hand and all that?

Turns out the assumptions we may have made earlier are different than they may seem...

Going good so far - sometimes I find myself reacting aloud "what are you doing???" at the father's actions. alone with this little child and old dog. I've got a lot more reading done on my little few day holiday and that's made me think it's the perfect holiday book.

26/206: going well so far, though I think it would be a devastating read to my ideology and life lived so far if it wasn't for the fact that I'd come to the realisation a bit myself recently also. I think for this book you need even a little seed of knowing it beforehand in order to accept it.

Chasing Volcanoes by Marilag Angway: a sweet little story about moving past first impressions. I liked the world the author created and would be interested in reading more about it.

The Last Aswang by Alessa Hinlo: The writing was more developed in this one. Felt like the political message would've been more effective if more subtle but that's a small thing.
