Hmm. I wish I could remember Gathering Blue and Messenger better now. I’m beginning to think I didn’t even read Messenger, though I know I did. I’m sure in some way this book ties those together with The Giver.

So far, this is much like the other books. It’s not a fast pace. It’s interesting to see where it has gone. It’s near the same timeline as The Giver, but from a different person’s perspective.

After sharing her story, Jane has started to talk about how we can protect the environment and animals. Not surprising, given her passion for both.

I’m at the part where she’s talking about Flo’s descendants. This is a fascinating book.

I’m at the part where rebels too some of the students at her institute, and she sent Her son, Grub, to England to live with her mom.
