The opening line of the book flap says "Indonesian Ferry Sinks". It got me sold at first glance. Seems like the author, Carl Hoffman, is some sort of a renegade version of Bill Bryson...

I put my reading of this book on hiatus for this moment, since I have to return the book to the library on the due date, which is today. I am intent on finishing the book soon though, after I check it back out again from the library...

P.264 - Tina Redse [one of Steve's first true loves] recalled "how incredibly painful it was to be in love with someone so self-centered".

Apparently, Steve and me have more similarities than I previously thought.

On p.257, it's obvious that Steve had actually met his biological father Abdulfattah Jandali in person...though each were not aware of their blood ties until several years later. What a coincidence, the meeting took place in a Mediterranean resto that Steve used to frequent, not knowing that the exact same resto was owned by his father Jandali!

P.65 - Ron Wayne, who was a partner in Apple, had 10% stake but he gave it up bcoz he thought Wozniak and Jobs were unstable. It was worth $2,300 that time. Had he stayed, at the end of 2010 his stake would worth $2.6 billion. What an irony.

P.222 - "Esslinger was an artist, so Jobs was willing to grant him indulgences he denied other mortals."

Steve also paid $100,000 to Paul Rand just to get ONE logo for his new company, NeXT. Insane! Haha

Much like the groups of bigoted, extremist, and sick bastards in other countries such as Basque ETA, IRA, or Jamaah Islamiyah, the KKK was established under an atmosphere of poverty and dissatisfaction amongst certain portions of the population. Now I know that KKK was conceived by disgruntled white Confederates in post-Civil War era. Why, I'm not surprised!

Trivia: Jobs is an big fan of Bob Dylan.

On page 198, Steve Jobs shows his bipolar side: "He would reach out to Sculley, then lash out at him behind his back, sometimes on the same night"

I just saw a picture of Sophie Kinsella on her Goodreads profile. Apparently she's beautiful!

The mention of Guy Hardelot's visit to his grandmother on pg 171 somehow makes me miss my own (deceased) grandmother... I miss her so much! =(
