At this point I feel like Jackson is just writing torture porn of her own character and I'm not really here for it. This is the heaviest YA book I've ever read like hot dang is this depressing

So this white boy Wyatt character is racist as heck and I'm so mad the main characters didn't just kick him out of their house after saying such stupid stuff?? I understand not engaging at school to avoid becoming the angry black girl but letting a bigoted, greedy idiot invade your HOUSE AND HOME???!! nah, I can't get with that fam. That's where I draw the line gtfo

I really have no reason to root for the main character right now and a lot of racial commentary is too on the nose and in my face imo. I just don't find Kiera's life interesting outside of the VR game

Zora only speaks about one love but she was married 3 times and now I'm left with the eternal mystery of who the heck P.M.P was and if they ever got married like....Zora, baby...why are you dead when I have questions

I'm determined to finish this but I'm low key bored. Not bad writing by any means, very interesting life in comparison to others, but this book is just hard to get through for me

This plot twist makes me feel so stupid but Nic blinded me with slow burn romance and beautiful characterization 😤😩🤧😠

You know you're reading a slow burn when they don't kiss until 300+ pages in but it was WORTH IT

This is my first time reading Nic Stone, but how is every single character amazing? Like every single one is 👌🏿😤👍🏿. And I've never seen two pining teens done so well, there is SO much fluff.

Let me just say, this is the ugliest cover I have ever seen. As an artist it just makes me so mad because the girl's hair looks so stiff and unnatural, and her arm isn't long enough to me so the proportions are off. I hate this cover so much. I wish I had the yellow version of this book and I want to box whoever Dennis Brown is about the ears smh. Writing's good though.

The fact that it took half the book to finally get interesting means I'm giving this 3 stars at best 👀
