First book of our group annotation circle!

Let’s gooooooo!!

I know I’m only 14% in but I’m already questioning if I’ll like this or not

Ok no spoilers but NO NO NO NO NO

Let the record show I’m about to read this book 28 times.

REBERTHA 🤣🤣

“Stop setting yourself on fire to keep others warm” and “some people aren’t talking to you because they owe you an apology” ABSOLUTE BARS

Ok, but why does the narrator make Billy sound like Bart Simpson. I’m trying here 🤣

CORGI’S COLLEEN?? REALLY! What kind of person has something against corgis?

Briana I stg 🙄🙄 Jacob I love you forever hahaha

Oh no, another little-brother-named-Jeremiah-stealing-girlfriends lol

-Audiobook-

In the spirit of reading before watching 💗

“What I had sitting next to me was the “cool girl.” That rare women who was gorgeous without being nuts. The girl in high school who hung out with all the guys, but she never dated any of them because none of them was mature enough for her.”

I fear I have the ick 😣 DNF now or see if the misogyny and “not like the other girls” isn’t the only theme in the book.

Re-read. Can’t remember much from when I read it a few years ago and I want to read it before watching the show 😆

Here we go, I’m so excited ⭐️

50% - I don’t dig the magic system, I actually can’t with the rhyming lines lol. So far, the FMC and MMC are bland with hardly any descriptors and no character arcs in sight. This book is on the top of every BookTok rec and I truly don’t get it. Let’s see if the next half of the book changes my mind 👀

Here’s my prediction:

Tonya is FMC’s mom, and Tonya actually lit the fire. Let’s see how far off I am haha
