Wonderful addition to the series!

I read this in an “American West in Literature” class in college, and just hand a hankering to read it again.

Nice to read a book that your granddaughter (Julia Rose) has recommended.

Goodreads friends, I have been thinking about a book I read years ago, Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks, about the Black Death in 1666. I recall it being filled with unimaginable, shocking moments, but also a book with hope. Am I right that it was also hopeful through the courage of the main character?

I have only read a few pages of the introduction and I can tell this will be an amazing book.

This book is hilarious. The audio edition has the BEST, most talented reader.

I love that Tom Hanks is the reader for the audiobook! A very good novel so far...

I absolutely LOVE this book. I have always been a fan, from his thoughtful introductions to episodes of Masterpiece Theater, his columns, etc. His choice of words, his endearing memories of a bygone time in his hardscrabble childhood, are such a pleasure to read.
