This is a fascinating read. The Crusaders were utter scumbags.

First two chapters are good. The first summarises how we got from D-Day to the events we are about to follow, which is a good balanced account. The second talks about the main Allied generals. I like he gives a fair share of space to lesser known names - Devers, Crerar, and Patch - not just the usual suspects. Plus he's fair to both Monty and Paton who can be treated badly/well depending on the historians.

I've read the introduction. This isn't going to be the lightest of reads.

'A Momentary Taste of Being' is the first story in this collection that I didn't really enjoy. It was too long.

Finished Part One: which sets the longer term scene for the impending revolution and suggests why it ended up going the way it did.

I think 'With Delicate Mad Hands' might be my favourite story so far.
