Cousin recommended this book. Super insightful. Really opening my eyes to begin to think about how our cities are designed around the automobile, and how that shapes how we do life and spend our time.

An incredibly insightful conversation about the relationship between our environments, their design, and our happiness. Book starts by discussing Bogotá Día sin Carro y Moto (no car day), ancient Roman architecture, and suburbia. Arguments are well rounded, realistic, and thought provoking.

Really enjoying how comprehensive and so specifically focused on user interface design this book is. This particular chapter reminds me of much of what I learned from Danny Meyer’s ‘Setting the Table’. Each and every detail of an experience is important, down to a modal pop-up and the copy of particular button, just like the place-settings at a table in a restaurant and the server’s tone of voice.

Really enjoying this book. Super helpful in thinking about how customer centricity affects even the smallest of details in the product development lifecycle.

Lots of practical tactics to keep the user at the center of the process, from research through dev. User stories are the core artifact and tool that drive this customer-centricity through the entire process.

Learning about the necessity of conversation-based user stories vs extensive documentation in software development. This approach allows for rapid iteration and collaboration between technical devs as well as non-technical designers, PMs and stakeholders.

Really enjoying the number of case studies and practical examples of the necessity of consistency and continuity when designing the user journey for a product.

So practical. Listened to chapter 1 on a run, which is about rising in the morning, and the opportunity it provides us to let the light in. Morning habits (how we wake, prepare, and send off into the day) preach to our hearts and are powerful tools to practice the story of God each day.
