So I suppose that something is gonna happen between Nikko and Gelis? I got a spoilery hint a very long time ago and seeing them interact I feel like too many emphasis is placed on their interactions for this not to be the case. But I'm not vibing with it so far. I LOVE Gelis on her own, brilliant character, I'm just not sure that I want her with Claes.

Welp, I knew she was dead as soon as she married Niccolò. Some of the bits of this book gave me some doubts but as soon as she set off on the trip and we never saw her POV again it was obvious that she was dead (and probably killed by someone connected to the de Fleurys).

I have the feeling that he's going to end up with Catherine eventually, because they have this weird chemistry that the other options don't.
