Really digging into Eucharist this summer for a paper. Don’t have any whole books on the Lutheran view, so reading bits and pieces of their confessions. Calvin had such a strong view. It’s awesome

Caleb Dyer is 68% done with The Word Made Flesh for Us: A Treatise on Christology and the Sacraments from Hooker's Law (Library of Early English Protestantism)
His section on union with Christ was insane. Probably going to have to read it a few more times. It seems like he says there is a mixture of us with Christ’s flesh, but not his “bodily substance”. We are conjoined to Christ. Interesting.

Having a hard time with his definition of participation. “Relationship is participation in another’s life” it seems like participating in God’s (which is his being) is more than just a relationship, but potentially ontological? I’m not sure.

Richard Hooker is very intelligent. There are a few things we disagree on, but it might be more terminology than anything. So glad I picked this book up!
