This is one of the most depressing train wrecks of a story I’ve ever read. I want to finish it so it will be over and I can read something happy.

Chapter 4 be like: here’s one pathway, have fun learning it! Take your time, it’s a lot!

Chapter 22 be like: there are four pathways by which DNA and RNA are made and salvaged, here are 82 enzymes in 12 pages, have fun.

This is devastating, it’s giving East of Eden vibes

This book is incredible

It’s book 13, John. We know that Ranger Horses don’t wander when their reins are dropped 🫤 this book might be 150 pages if he didn’t love horses so much.

When I read the chapter on GAGs, I expected biochemistry jokes 😔 SMH my head, I set myself up to be disappointed.

This is going to be a 5 Star book, I can already tell.

Love this interplay between Halt and Crowley.

This book warms my heart and I’m so so glad to read it. The foreword alone helps to remind me to be silly! Sometimes, knowing things alone is reason enough to learn.

Who cares if you can spit out Planck’s constant off the top of your head? It’s much more interesting to me if you can explain the sentence “All the electrons in a dolphin weigh about 1.5 pounds.”

This chapter on disaccharide metabolism sure was SWEET! 🍪🍩🍭🍫🍬
